DAY 1: NAIROBI

Welcome to Kenya! This East African country is home to diverse wildlife, spectacular lakes, savannahs, mountainous regions, the famous Rift Valley holding a volcanic creator mountain, and much more.
Upon arrival in Nairobi - the Kenyan capital, you will be met by a Lowana Tours representative and transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Eka Hotel will be delighted to host you for your first overnight upon arrival.

DAY 2: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

You’ll have an early morning drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. It holds on as one of the few places left on earth where wildlife still lives comparatively undisturbed, in the numbers that once roamed the plains and forests of Africa. As the northern tip of the vast Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara hosts the spectacular seasonal migration of many thousands of wildebeest, zebras and attendant predators. You’ll arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay
Overnight: Mara Bush Camp (L, D & B)
The Mara Bush Camp Portfolio boasts one of the best and most spectacular locations in the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. It is located on the banks of the seasonal Olare Orok River, overlooking a large hippo pool with over 40 hippos at any given time. It is only a 05 minutes’ drive from Ol Kiombo Airstrip. River crossings during the July to October Migration period are only a short drive away from the camp.

DAY 3: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Enjoy coffee & tea served with light snacks before starting your pre-dawn game drive within the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will have the option of leaving the camp for a full day game drive in search of the wildebeest migration river crossing or enjoying an early morning and late afternoon game viewing drive returning to the camp for a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the evening.
Overnight: Mara Bush Camp (L, D, B)
Drive out of the camp at dawn to watch the animals waking to the start of a new day and return to the camp for breakfast, or spend a full day in the reserve, stopping for lunch at a picturesque viewpoint. Stroll along the riverbanks observing the prolific birdlife and talk to the Maasai about their medicinal uses of the indigenous plants.

DAY 4: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Early morning pre-breakfast game drive to track the wildcats as they hunt and kill very early in the morning. If you are lucky you will witness a hunt and a kill. At 0930am we will be back to the camp for full breakfast.
The Kenya guide will transfer you to Isebania where you will meet the Tanzania guide. After Immigration at the border Proceed to Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge with a game driver en route.

DAY 5: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Morning and afternoon game drive in the Serengeti with a lunch and leisure break at Serengeti Serena lodge in the midafternoon .The term ‘serengeti’ means endless plains in maasai language. In the central plains there are carnivores like, leopards, hyena and cheetah. This park is normally the scene of the annual migration of the wildebeest and zebras, which occurs between Serengeti and Kenya’s Maasai mara game reserve. Eagles, Flamingoes, duck, geese, and vultures are among the birds that can be seen in the park, Dinner and overnight in your campsite.

Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife: over 2 million ungulates, 4000 lions, 1000 leopard, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000 square kilometers in size. Join us on a safari and explore the endless Serengeti plains dotted with trees and kopjes from which majestic lions control their kingdom; gaze upon the Great Migration in awe or find an elusive leopard in a riverine forest. Or perhaps see everything from a bird’s-eye view and soar over the plains at sunrise during a hot air balloon safari. Accommodation options come in every price range - the sound of lions roaring at night is complimentary.

DAY 6: NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA

After early breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater arriving at Lemala Ndutu Tented Camp in time for lunch. After lunch, descend 2000 ft. (670m) into the crater floor for half day crater tour with break for lunch at Ngoitoktok springs picnic site. Black manned lions, rhinos, buffaloes, elephants and other grazing animals abound. Evening game drive, return to Ngorongoro wildlife campsite for dinner and overnight.

Ngorongoro Conservation Area is in northern Tanzania. Its home to the vast, volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and “big 5” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino).

DAY 7: ARUSHA

After leisurely breakfast drive to Arusha which takes approximately 3 hours and you will arrive in time for early lunch (11:30) at Shanga River House (www.shanga.org). If time permits you will have a short walk for coffee tour also have the opportunity to see the beadwork made by the workers at Shanga before transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your homebound flight.
Shanga was founded in 2007 in Arusha, Tanzania when a local resident made a handful of fabric necklaces for a Christmas Fair. Combining local fabric with beads and her sons' marbles, she created a unique necklace that sold out within hours. The days after the fair were busy with - orders coming in for the necklaces from safari companies and gift shops. Shanga, the Swahili word for bead, was born.
