DAY 1: NAIROBI

Upon arrival in Nairobi - the Kenyan capital, you will be met by a Lowana Tours representative and transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 2: ABERDARE NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast we depart Nairobi and proceed north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates to The Ark forest Lodge.

Nestled in the foothills between Aberdare and Mount Kenya National Park, the lodge is famous for high perches and balconies, overlooking a salt lick and waterhole.
Boasting a remarkable record of wildlife sightings from their floodlit waterhole’s and salt licks, here we will enjoy the finest in high-altitude game viewing.

Overnight at The Ark Lodge (L, D & B)

Set in the heart of the Aberdare National Park, iconic and yes, quirky. The Ark overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick, which attracts a host of awesome wildlife.

Resembling and named after Noah’s Ark, The Ark comprises of three decks from which numerous balconies and lounges provide a superb location for wildlife to be seen. So that you don’t miss any animal sightings, the night guard will buzz your room when special animals come to the waterhole. The Ark has four viewing areas for observing the ever-present animal activity.

DAY 3: SAMBURU & BUFFALO SPRING RESERVE

After breakfast, you will be driven to the Samburu & Buffalo Springs Game Reserve, arriving in time for lunch at Samburu Simba. Enjoy a late afternoon game viewing drive before having dinner and overnight.

Overnight at Samburu Simba Lodge (L, D & B)

Samburu Simba Lodge offers an up close and personal African experience. Stunning views of the plains and game can be seen from your room. Situated in Buffalo Springs Game Reserve, overlooking the Buffalo Springs and the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Nature and bird walks are available to all guests. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, main bar, and restaurant. Other activities available include bush dinner and sundowners.

DAY 4: SAMBURU & BUFFALO SPRING RESERVE

Enjoy coffee & tea served with light snacks before starting your pre-dawn game drive within the Samburu & Buffalo Springs Game Reserve before returning for a mid-morning breakfast at Samburu Simba Lodge. Mid-day will be spent at leisure and a late afternoon game viewing drive returning to the camp for refreshing, dinner, and overnight.

DAY 5: OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY

Depart from Samburu in the morning and drive to Ol pejeta. Check in at Serena Sweetwater’s Tented Camp and have lunch. After lunch have game drives in Ol pejeta. Ol pejeta is one of the prime sanctuaries in Laikipia platue. It has Southern white Rhino and also a refuge of the last 2 northern white rhino left in the world.(To view the Northern white Rhino needs to be booked in advance at extra cost) The Jane Goodall Institute also operates a remarkable Chimpanzee Sanctuary where you can see the primates.

Overnight: Sweetwater’s Tented Camp (L, D &B)

Ol Pejeta is the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa, and home to two of the world's last remaining northern white rhinos. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market.

DAY 6: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast depart for the Great Rift Valley’s Lake Nakuru National Park, arriving in good time for lunch at the Sarova Lion Hill. In the late afternoon enjoy a game drive within the Lake Nakuru National Park before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is set along "The Lion Hill" in Lake Nakuru National Park. Concealed amidst lush vegetation, the safari lodge features a classic aesthetic and timeless design with a sense of calm and relaxation. It offers the most scenic and spectacular views of the Lake and the National Park from 67 chalet-style rooms, each with its own terrace. DAY 7: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

After breakfast depart Lake Nakuru National Park and drive through the scenic Rift Valley escarpment. Arrive in time for lunch at the Ashnil Mara Camp. In the late afternoon enjoy a game viewing drive within the Masai Mara Game Reserve before returning for refreshing, dinner and overnight.

Ashnil Mara Camp comprises 50 luxury tents overlooking the plains of the Maasai Mara and includes luxury ensuite bathrooms, walk-in closets and a sun deck for relaxation while watching game. Its opening does not only add another dimension to the Mara, already a famous national reserve in the world, but it also becomes another important land- mark in the travel destination

Day 8: MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

Enjoy coffee & tea served with light snacks before starting your pre-dawn game drive within the Masai Mara National Reserve. You will have the option of leaving the camp for a full day game drive in search of the wildebeest migration river crossing or enjoying an early morning and late afternoon game viewing drive returning to the camp for a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the evening.

Overnight: Ashnil Mara Camp (L, D &B)

Drive out of the camp at dawn to watch the animals waking to the start of a new day and return to the camp for breakfast, or spend a full day in the reserve, stopping for lunch at a picturesque viewpoint. Stroll along the riverbanks observing the prolific birdlife and talk to the Maasai about their medicinal uses of the indigenous plants.

DAY 9: LAKE NAIVASHA

After breakfast depart Lake Naivasha and drive through the scenic Rift Valley escarpment. Arrive in time for lunch at the Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. In the late afternoon go for a 1hr boat ride returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge (L, D &B)

Lake Naivasha is the highest lake within the Great Rift Valley. With a surface area of 139km², Lake Naivasha dominates the landscape, and it is surrounded by a swamp which covers an area of around 64km². Beyond the swampland, the lake is encircled by forests of the fever tree.

DAY 10: NAIROBI

After a relaxing breakfast, we will take you back to Nairobi for lunch at Karen Blixen Coffee Garden. This is followed by an “Out of Africa” tour with a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum & Giraffe Center. Afterwards go for the farewell dinner in the world famous Carnivore Restaurant. After dinner we will take you to Jomo Kenyatta International (+/- 3 hours) for your flight back home.
