DAY 1: NAIROBI

Upon arrival in Nairobi - the Kenyan capital, you will be met by a Lowana Tours & Travel representative and transferred to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Overnight: Fours points by Sheraton (B&B)

Four Points by Sheraton Nairobi Airport will be delighted to host you for your first overnight upon arrival, featuring contemporary designs created to delight the senses, the 172-room hotel offers all the modern amenities and comforts a traveler needs. From spacious rooms and signature beds to rain showers, 42” LED TVs, and a variety of dining options.

DAY 2: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, you will be driven to the natural wonderland of Amboseli National Park arriving in time for lunch. Mount Kilimanjaro, the still-glaciated monarch of Africa presides over Amboseli, thrusting three dizzying miles above the park’s grasslands. As Peter Matthiessen wrote in The Tree Where Man Was Born, “A snow peak in the tropics draws the heart to a fine shimmering painful point of joy.”

Overnight: Kibo Safari Camp (L, D & B)

Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, the Ambos Eli National Parks is one of Kenya's most popular parks. The name Amboseli comes from a Maasai word meaning "salty dust", and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands. They can also visit the local Maasai community who live around the park and experience their authentic culture.

DAY 3: AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy early morning coffee & tea served with light snacks before departing for a pre-dawn game viewing drive within Ambos Eli before returning to the camp for a full breakfast. In the mid-morning, you have the option of visiting an authentic Maasai Village and thereafter, returning to the camp for lunch and a relaxed afternoon before embarking on another late afternoon game viewing drive and a sundowner at Observation Hill within Amboseli, returning to the camp after for refreshing, dinner and overnight.

Overnight: Kibo Safari Camp (L, D & B)

Enjoy a varied array of activities, from exploring Ambos Eli National Park to thrilling safari activities, eco-tourism adventures, bush expeditions, and more. With plenty of wildlife to see, your game drives are likely to be filled with the delights of spotting game against the majestic Mt. Kilimanjaro. The crowning moment comes when you reach Observation Hill for your sundowner. Elevated above the seasonal Amboseli marshes where elephants and other game wallow in the mud and feed on the lush vegetation, the observation hill gives you a commanding view of the Ambos Eli ecosystem as you relax to enjoy idyllic sunsets and sip on a glass of a bubbly drink. Experience the rich Maasai culture, unchanged over millennia. Encounter the marvels of the best-kept cultural heritage from its natives.

DAY 4: MOUNT KENYA NATIONAL PARK

The tour continues in a northerly direction. You will drive through the rich agricultural area of central Kenya and arrive in time for lunch. You can spot wildlife from the lodge's balcony. Dinner and overnight stay in the chosen accommodation.

Overnight: Rhino Watch Lodge (L, D &B)

The Lodge offers a beautiful view of Mt Kenya. Surrounded by three wildlife reserves the lodge provides an ideal base for safari game drives. The warm hospitality and a friendly atmosphere await you.

DAY 5: SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

After breakfast you will drive along the equator. On a clear day you can see the snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya, 5,199 meters above sea level, the second highest mountain in Africa. You will arrive at the accommodation in time for lunch. The following days are spent on game drives, in search of the Big 5. Meals and overnight stays in the accommodation.

Overnight: Ashnil Samburu (L, D &B)

Ashnil Samburu Camp is a luxury tented set in the spectacular backdrop drop of the Mighty Ol Olokwe Mountain fronting Ewaso Nyiro River. The 19 exclusive luxury Tents are spread out along the shady banks of the river under a thick stand of doum Palms. It features an outdoor swimming pool surrounded by sun lounges, a garden and a Lounge bar offering views of the African savannah. Each tent features a decked Terrance with views of the Ewaso Nyiro River. The restaurant offers views of the river and serves a variety of menus comprising of Oriental, traditional and international cuisines. A range of activities are available on request and comprise of game drives, nature Walks and a cultural visit to the samburu village, bush meals like bush lunch/dinner and sundowners.

DAY 6: SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE

Enjoy coffee & tea served with light snacks before starting your pre-dawn game drive within the Samburu National Park before returning for a mid-morning breakfast at Ashnil Samburu. Mid-day will be spent at leisure and a late afternoon game viewing drive returning to the camp for refreshing, dinner, and overnight.

Overnight at Ashnil Samburu (L, D & B)

Samburu National Reserve lies within ecological zone V- which is classified as arid and semi- arid with moisture index of 42 to 57, which indicate that evapo-transpiration is greater than available moisture. The days are extremely hot while the nights are cool. The annual mean temperatures range between 18ºC and 30ºC, while the mean annual rainfall is 354mm with peaks in November and April. The dry season starts in late May, and goes up to early October during when large concentration of wildlife is found in the reserve due to availability of lush vegetation along the Ewaso Nyiro River, the main source of water to the Reserve and the nearby communities.

DAY 7: LAKE NAIVASHA

After breakfast you will drive to Lake Naivasha, where you will find many flower farms. We ensure that you arrive at the accommodation in time for lunch. A boat trip is planned in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at the accommodation.

Overnight: Naivasha Sopa (L, D &B)

Set in one hundred and fifty acres of grassland studded with Acacia bushes and trees, the resort is not only home to our resident giraffe, waterbuck and both Vervet and Colobus monkeys, but it is also a night stop for the hippos when they leave the lake every night to come and trim the grass on our expansive lawns

DAY 8: MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, Lowana Tours will take you to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, where we will stop for a picnic lunch. Along the way you can spot various wild animals. In the late afternoon we arrive at the accommodation for dinner and overnight stay. You will stay here for 2 nights.

Overnight: Mara Maisha Camp (L, D &B)

Mara Maisha Camp is a luxury tented camp located just 4.5km from Talek Gate of the world famous Maasai Mara National Reserve. It offers fully furnished luxurious units complete with dining & bar facilities. It has 73 self-contained tents and they are able to accommodate guests as per their preferences. The beds have been custom designed, and are locally made using bush logs.

DAY 9: MASAI MARA NATIONAL PARK

An early start. Tea and/or coffee with a cookie are provided. Then at dawn you will look for wild animals that are just waking up or looking for a place to sleep. After which you return to the lodge for an extensive breakfast. There is nothing planned for the rest of the morning. You can choose how you fill in these free hours. In the late afternoon we leave for a late afternoon safari tour. Dinner and overnight stay in the chosen accommodation.

Overnight: Mara Maisha Camp (L, D &B)

The Masai Mara features a stunning kaleidoscope of wild and rugged landscapes, warm and welcoming people and an exciting array of creatures – big and small. World famous for hosting the epic Great Migration, the Masai Mara welcomes 1.5 million wildebeests onto its sprawling savannahs each July through October. DAY 10: NAIROBI

After breakfast, Lowana Tours will take you back to Nairobi with lunch enroute. Dinner today is at the world famous Carnivore Restaurant. You will be taken to the airport in time for your return flight (+/- 3 hours before departure).
