Terms of Payments

A deposit of 30% of the total invoice is required to secure your reservations, once being confirmed to you.
The balance of payment is due 20-30 days prior to your date of arrival in Africa or safari start. If your booking is made and confirmed within 45 days of your arrival date, full payment will be required immediately.

A 50% deposit of total safari cost for (Kenya / Tanzania combined tours) is required at time of booking confirmation & balance at least 30 days to the date of safari commencement.

Safari Cancellation Policy:

By You: Lowana Tours & Travel must be notified of cancellations in writing.

Cancellation between 90 & 61 days before arrival – charged 20% of the full amount

Cancellation between 60 & 31 days before arrival – charged 50% of the full amount

Cancellation between 30 & 0 days before arrival – charged 100% of the full amount

A 20% service fee will be deducted by Lowana Tours & Travel on any refund processed through us.

Lowana Tours & Travel will not accept any liability for claims received after 30 days of the termination of the tour.

By Lowana Tours & Travel: Although it rarely happens, and we will do our utmost to avoid doing so, Lowana Tours & Travel or its suppliers may reserve the right to cancel tours and other arrangements. Where your holiday is canceled (other than due to your default in payment) Lowana Tours & Travel will offer you the choice of an alternative arrangement (paying or receiving a refund in respect of any price difference) or receiving a full and immediate refund of all monies paid to Lowana Tours & Travel and may be forced to curtail the holiday after departure where circumstances amounting to force majeure to arise. In this situation, Lowana Tours & Travel will not make any refunds or pay any compensation or be responsible for any costs or expenses incurred by you as a result.

** Some hotels, camps, and lodges have a different cancellation policy than the Travel Wild cancellation policy. For these hotels, camps, and lodges, we will alert the client of these differences.

Child Policy

0-2 years, Free of Charge
03-12 years, 50% of adult rate if sharing with adults
03-12 years, 75% of adult rate if using own room
Over 12 years, adult rate
For flights, 0-12 years is at least 75% of adult rate per flight seat
It is important to indicate the ages of children before bookings are done because some hotels do not have facilities for small children / infants.  Special beds / cots for little children are provided on request depending on availability.

Not Included on Our Safari Package

  1. Optional extras such as Balloon safaris, Nature walks, Maasai Cultural Visit, Bush Dinners or breakfast, Boat rides ETC.
  2. Personal expenses such as beverages.
  3. Laundry and room service.
  4. Gratuities to your safari escort, excess baggage fees, meals not specified in your itinerary.
  5. Passports & Visa Fee

AIRFARE– Tour prices do not include international or other airfare unless expressly mentioned in the Tour’s descriptions. The Tour Operator will quote the best price available for the travel dates requested at the time the quote is prepared. Quotes provide an estimate only and are not a firm price commitment by us or the applicable air carrier(s).

The Tour Operator acts only as a sales agent for the applicable air carrier and the air carrier terms and conditions apply to the purchase and use of the air travel ticket. Please consult the air carrier’s applicable terms and conditions and conditions of carriage for complete information including applicable cancellation terms. The Tour Operator is not responsible for changes in air itineraries or flight times and does not provide advice or alerts regarding air travel tickets, flight status or delays.

Liability

  1. Bookings are accepted on the condition that Lowana Tours & Travel and its agents acts as agents for the passenger in hotel/lodge accommodation, transport and tours and will not be liable for loss, delay, injury, accident or damage arising when the passenger is being carried in transport owned by the company.
  2. The company owns the right to subcontract the service agreed to be supplied, wholly or partially, in the event in which the company liability clause shall apply.
  3. The respective laws of the country govern the liability to the company transportation.
  4. Other claims are subject to the jurisdiction courts in the country in which the cause arises.
  5. The company accepts no liability, whatsoever for loss, theft or damage to the clients’ baggage; however, utmost care will be used while handling the same. Baggage insurance is highly recommended.
  6. Lowana Tours & Travel will not accept responsibility for additional expenses or losses due to changes in airlines schedules or delays or any other factor caused by force majeure such as civil strife, war, quarantine etc.

Insurance

Please note that individual travel insurance is not included in the tour price and all medical costs and other costs involved must be paid for by the client. It is therefore strongly recommended that participants take out personal travel insurance, especially for the active tours. We strongly recommend to all of our clients to purchase comprehensive travel insurance prior to departure to meet any contingencies that would cover against cancellation charges, unexpected curtailment of your vacation, medical expenses arising overseas including repatriation, loss or damage to luggage and personal liability claims against you. Should you fail to secure such Travel Insurance coverage prior to your travel, then you accept full responsibility for yourself and all of the members of your party, and indemnify Lowana Tours & Travel and our overseas Kenya Travel agents and representatives (as applicable) for any and all costs that may arise, which would otherwise have been met, had such travel insurance been in force.

Safari Transport

Tour cars, Safari minivans, 4×4 jeeps, Land Cruisers or coaches will be provided depending on the route and number of safari tour /excursion participants. The company reserves the right to employ the services of sub-contractors.

English, Italian, German, Spanish, French – speaking drivers/guides are provided.

Data Protection

In order to process your booking and to make sure that your holiday arrangements run smoothly, we need to pass the information which you provide on to relevant suppliers such as airlines, transfer companies, hotels, camps, lodges etc. The information which we provide may also be provided to credit checking companies and public authorities such as customs and immigration if required by law. However, we will not pass your information on to any person who is not responsible for part of your holiday arrangements. If we cannot pass your information on to relevant suppliers, we cannot provide your booking, therefore in making this booking, you consent to your information being passed onto them.

Game Viewing

Lowana Tours & Travel does not guarantee viewing all expected animals because animal sightings in their natural habitats is a privilege; all efforts will be made by your tour driver to ensure that you see the most in the parks specified in the itinerary.

Photography

During Travel Lowana Tours & Travel Ltd, reserves the right to take photographs during the operation of any safari or part thereof and to use resulting photographs for promotional purposes. By confirming a safari with the company, passengers agree to allow their images to be used in such photographs. Passengers who prefer that their images not be used are asked to identify themselves at the beginning of their safari.

Health and Safety Policy Procedures

  1. Providing clients with an emergency contact number which is available 24/7 while they are on safari (this is found inside your safari vehicle on a wall sticker)
  2. Ensuring there is constant communication and follow up during your safari between staff / driver and clients to ensure everything is going as planned
  3. We ensure that all staff are fully aware of the nearest medical facility on each route they are using while on safari
  4. Providing emergency evacuation cover to all clients which ensures that you are air lifted to the nearest medical facility in case of an accident
  5. All our staff are trained on basic first aid skills and vehicles equipped with a first aid box with all necessary equipment
  6. Our vehicles undergo thorough inspection every year and a certificate of compliance issued to show that the vehicle is road worthy. In addition to this, after every safari, we ensure that the vehicle is thoroughly checked for any mechanical faults such as loose nuts on the wheels due to rough terrain.

Travel Documents

It is your responsibility to obtain information and to have in your possession all the required documentation and identification required for entry, departure, and travel to each country or region. This includes a valid passport and all travel documents required by the relevant governmental authorities including all visas, permits, and certificates (including but not limited to vaccination or medical certificates) and insurance policies.

You agree that you are responsible for the full amount of any loss or expense incurred by the Tour Operator that is a direct result of your failure to secure or be in possession of proper travel documentation.

You accept full responsibility for obtaining all such documents, visas, and permits prior to the start of the Tour, and you are solely responsible for the full amount of costs incurred as a result of missing or defective documentation.

Flying Doctors Services / Air Ambulance Cover: We can organize a flying doctor or Air Ambulance cover for you for the duration of your safari. This costs US$25 per person if traveling within Kenya only, and US$50 per person traveling in both Kenya and Tanzania. It is valid for a 2 month period. We strongly recommend that you / your clients subscribe to this cover. Simply mention it at the time of booking.

Law and Jurisdiction

These booking conditions are governed by the laws of Kenya and any action arising under them, or in any way connected with the travel arrangements booked, may be brought only in a court in Kenya.
